Mr. Demitri Manasses

Mr. Manasses has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust since 2016. Leading the glaucoma service at the prestigious Bristol Eye Hospital, he is renowned for his expertise in performing thousands of glaucoma and cataract procedures. Mr. Manasses has been instrumental in introducing innovations in glaucoma treatment to the NHS, such as Minimally Invasive Glaucoma surgery (MIGs) and Minimally Invasive Bleb surgery. Following his ophthalmology training in the South West, he pursued subspecialist glaucoma fellowships in NHS hospitals in Cheltenham, Bristol, and Manchester. Mr. Manasses’ interests span cataract surgery, surgical innovation in glaucoma procedures, managing complex secondary glaucoma cases, and his ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Samantha Hunt

Samantha is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads the oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital service at Bristol Eye Hospital. With expertise in oculoplastic, orbital, and lacrimal surgery, she also continues to practice cataract surgery. Samantha has pioneered innovative treatments, such as platinum segment chains for facial nerve palsy and minimally invasive flow control punctal plugs for patients with narrow tear drainage systems. Samantha trained in ophthalmology in the South West, including several years at Bristol Eye Hospital and a year specialising in oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery. She then completed a fellowship in oculoplastic and orbital surgery at East Grinstead, a centre known for treating facial nerve palsy. After working as a consultant in Sheffield, her strong ties to Bristol brought her back when the opportunity arose.

Nancie’s journey into refractive optometry at a nationally recognised laser vision and surgery practice has equipped her with expertise in advanced techniques, empowering patients seeking alternatives to glasses and contact lenses. Committed to ongoing professional development, Nancie completed her Independent Prescribing course at Glasgow University and continues to expand her capabilities.

Magda Jamroz is a highly skilled Independent Prescribing, Specialist Optometrist with expertise in glaucoma, cornea, specialist contact lenses, and dry eye, currently serving as a Medical Optometrist at Vision Care Clinic and Bristol Eye Hospital. Starting her optometry journey with exceptional academic achievements, including a First Class Degree from Aston University, Magda has demonstrated dedication and passion throughout her career.
